Tenth Anniversary of 9/11

Washington, DC
Sunday, September 11, 2011

C-SPAN's coverage of events marking the tenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorst attacks culminated in a "Concert of Hope"  broadcast from the Kennedy Center.

Calling the past ten years "a story of resilience," Pres. Obama told the audience that the "legacy of 9/11" will be "that we kept that faith [in God and each other]; that we took a painful blow, and emerged stronger."

Earlier today, C-SPAN  covered the memorial ceremony at the World Trade Center site in New York City. President Obama, former President Bush, New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg, former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani, New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and former Governor George Pataki all attended.

Throughout the day, C-SPAN drew from archival footage and interviews to bring you memories of that day, from Bush Administration officials, congressional leaders, military pilots and others. And we heard viewers as they shared their memories of September 11 and its aftermath.

In addition, C-SPAN's companion networks, C-SPAN2 and C-SPAN3, covered the Pentagon Memorial ceremony and the Memorial ceremony from Pennsylvania.
