Senators Announce Immigration Reform Proposals

Washington, DC
Monday, January 28, 2013

A group of eight bipartisan Senators held a news conference in the U.S. Capitol to release their blueprint for an immigration reform bill.

Senators who attended the news conference include: Republicans Marco Rubio (FL)  and John McCain (AZ) as well as Democrats Chuck Schumer (NY), Dick Durbin (IL) and Bob Menendez (NJ).

The plan includes four major changes to immigration law including a “tough and but fair” path to citizenship for most of the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants currently living in the U.S.

Additional Senators who were part of the discussions include Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Jeff Flake (R-AZ) and Michael Bennet (D-CO).
