Pres. Obama Nominates Sen. Kerry as Secretary of State

President Obama nominated long-time Senator John Kerry (D-MA) to be Secretary of State. The Vietnam War Veteran is Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He’s also the 2004 presidential nominee.

U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice withdrew her name from being considered for Secretary of State, after Republican opposition over her statements on the Benghazi consulate attack.
