House Speaker Meets with Capitol Hill Press

Washington, DC
Wednesday, February 6, 2013

House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) meets with members of the media. He uses his opening statement to focus on the budget, saying Congress needs to pass a budget that was balanced and would help reduce the deficit.

He says that Americans were against another tax hike, and that the sequester needs to be replaced with budget cuts only, instead of a combination of revenue and cuts, as Democrats are seeking.

Questions include the budget and sequestration,he postal service's decision, announced today, to eliminate Saturday delivery, and immigration reform.
