The security of U.S. information technology infrastructure was the focus of several panel discussions at the Heritage Foundation. Topics include, “Big Brother and the Civilian Network” and a later panel on “Cyber Nukes: War and Terrorism in the Cyber Domain.” Panelists examined the role of cyber security in homeland defense efforts and how government agencies and the private sector should react to potential threats.

GOP Senators Meet with Ambassador Rice

U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. Susan Rice and Acting Director of the CIA Michael Morrell met with Republican members of the Senate Armed Services Committee today on Capitol Hill.  Senators John McCain (R-AZ), Kelly Ayotte (R-NH) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) spoke to reporters after the meeting, saying they are "significantly troubled" over responses to their questions regarding the explanation of the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
