Education Secretary Address on School Safety

Education Secretary Arne Duncan addressed school safety in a speech on Friday in Washington. This is his first public appearance since the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, CT last Friday,

Sec. Duncan addressed the need for comprehensive protocols and policies to protect students from violence and crime, discuss the Obama Administration's Promise Neighborhoods program, and call on local, state, and national leaders to step up efforts to ensure safety in schools.
