Canadian House of Commons Question Period with Prime Minister Stephen Harper

Washington, DC
Monday, September 19, 2011

Canadian House of Commons Members returned for the fall session to question Prime Minister Stephen Harper and his Cabinet about deficit reduction, foreign policy, and upcoming legislation.

Last spring, the Prime Minister’s Conservative Party won a majority in the House, which means Prime Minister Harper is expected to win approval of several bills as well as his budget, which promises to eliminate the federal debt by 2014.  The government is also expected to re-introduce anti-terrorism laws that expired in 2007 and a new copyright law.  This live event is courtesy of CPAC, Canada’s Cable Public Affairs Channel, and contains some French with English translation.
