C-SPAN Radio Special: World War II Oral History

Washington, DC
Saturday, December 8, 2007

This week marks the 66th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, the event that prompted the United States to enter World War II and begin the Pacific War campaign. From the oral history archives of the National Museum of the Pacific War in Fredericksburg, Texas, we'll listen to the story of Arwin Bowden, who survived the three-day Battle of Tarawa. Jon Cavanaugh, Director of the National Museum of the Pacific War, joins us to talk about the museum's mission and the 2,700 recordings in the Museum's oral history collection.
